Final Day

and it was a perfect one.....loved hanging out today at the pool. Got a good tan going and I only used one bottle of SPF 15.  We had another beautiful sunset and to end the evening, we met Tom (another professor from WNC) for dinner at Marguerite's.  Had a delicious lobster tail and a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc. 

Now off to ride the big bird.  Until next year.....Bye Jamaica!

lazy days

  Most of day was rainey and stayed in and watch re-runs...finally cleared up late in afternoon so I could get this shot.

Woke up after a very restful night to a bright day.  Ellie and I did our morning workout walk and had a surprising view on our route back....Don't know why these Jamaican men thing we would want to see their stuff!  Pretty disgusting!  Now to the beach for more fun in the sun!

Back in Mobay

Arrived from Negril after lunch yesterday to re-check in at El Greco.  They didn't have a one bedroom like we were suppose to have so they put us in a 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath and said just to use one room.. LOL  Only in Jamaica.  We have the bare necessities....but you know, you really don't need much - you just make do and love every minute of it.

Dinner last night......salsa, chips, nuts, cheese....we were not that hungry.

Had a bit of rain during the night and early morning.  Suppose to clear up and reach 85 with partly cloudy skies...that will be good.  No walk this am....just trying to regroup and unpack for the week.  Will head down to the beach in a bit.

In Paradise

Traveling from Mobay to Negril.

Only about an 1 hour and 30 min drive to our place in Negil.  As usual, our room wasn't ready, so we indulged in lunch..  Beautiful laided back kind of place and everyone is very nice.

Our massage lady, Janice was awaiting for us.  This is  my absoultely my favorite place in Jamaica.

Spent all day on the beach enjoying the sun and the local vendors coming by.  You can buy just about anything you want on the beach, from bananas, fresh OJ, smokes, pineapples, jewerly, cooked lobster, a favorite song, horse back riding, parsailing, jet ski riding, art work, etc. etc. etc.  You name it....it is here.

Negril, Jamaica

Getting ready to head over to Negril for more beach, sun, fun, massages, wine, food, shopping etc. etc. etc.  Got a survey back from Delta regarding my flight.....of course, I took the opportunity to give them a good rating but also voiced my concern on my missing earings and braclet.  I can't believe they actually contacted me back with a form to fill out for reimburement on the theft.  Let's hope they come through.  Until later......cheers!

Another Day in Pardise

After a good night sleep I was up and ready to go.....Ellie and I took our morning walk and enjoyed our breakfast of eggs and kalazoo.  On are workout walk, we saw another criuse ship coming in, so we decided to spend some time at the pool then lunch at "The Twisted Tilt".  So much just enjoying the R & R.

Doctor's Cave

Today was a fun in the sun at Doctor Cave's Beach.  Rented a couple of beach chairs and I'm set for the day.  Cruise ship came in this am so the tourist flocked to the beach.....no matter, I enjoyed it tremendously.  

No shoes, No shirts, No problems

The song No shoes, No shirts, No problems by Kenny Chesney, has been stuck in my head all day.  I didn't know the words after this line so I went on I-Tunes and downloaded it.  Can't imagine of all songs why this one has been on my mind all day.  Is Jamaica trying to tell me something!  LOL


Grocery store day....got enough snacks and a couple of dinners for a few days.  Headed to Nigril on Saturday so we didn't need that much.  That's about all I did today, well other than just be lazy.  Ellie brought back some chicken from the "Pork Pit" for dinner tonight. Soooo good.  Will put the left overs in a salad for another time.


Beach time tomorrow and hopefully I'll get some pictures posted. 

We're Here.....

There were quite a few empty seats on this flight....even the two beside me.  It was nice to streach out.  Pluged in my Ipod and watch a movie, order a glass of wine and some snacks.  Ellie was out!  Went thur immigration with no hassles.  We got lucky - one of Ellie's prior students checked us in.  Our driver (Johnny) was waiting and it was only a short drive over to The El Greco Resort.  I regonized a few  people who had checked us in from before.  They are all so nice and accommodating , but our room wasn't ready.  That was just fine because we were ready for lunch.  Of course, we went to one of our favorite places (The Twisted Tilt) or as we call it "The Twisted Tit".  Nice lunch out on the patio overlooking the blue Carribean waters.  It had rained earlier, like it does most afternoons, but it had cleared up by the time we arrived.


Now to unpack and chill out.  Can't be absoulty positive, but I am pretty sure I'm missing a piece of jewerly that I had put in a separate container.  It was open and nothing was in there when I unpack.  My other jewerly was in another container, but had not been bothered.  I've search aleast 5 times all through my stuff.  It wasn't anything too expensive (I never take the good stuff) but it does bother me.  Ellie's off to her teaching assignment and I'll just rest until she returns around 7ish.  Then who knows what we'll get into, but I have a feeling it will be a little dinner and early to bed.  At least for me. 

Atlanta

A very early morning to get to Atlanta....3:30 am left Cashiers.  A little drizzy rain and a small traffic jam before Lawrensville area.  Apparently a disabled vehicle.  Only cost us 15 mins.  Made it to airport in 3 hrs. 15 mins.  and not speeding.  Ellie was up all night packing and catching up.  She is still wide-opened.  Think that Benadrl will kick in soon for her????  Security at ATL was a breeze.  Thank goodness. AND my luggage wasn't oversized.


A Happy Birthday to my sis...Diane.  Wish I could see her more often.
Saying my prayers for Johnny, his heart surgery is scheduled for Tuesday am.
Should be boarding around 9ish....Jamaica here we come!

Count down is finally here

As it turned out, I had to re-pack twice....was overweight.  Don't know why I didn't think to just pack another bag....the 2nd one is also free, if underweight.  But, Buddy stepped in, and said "just do small bag".  Creaver guy! What would I do without him.  So I'm good to go.


14 hours till I'll be flying high.....I mean in an airplane to the beautiful Caribbean.  So excited to be going, that I've had an upset stomach all day.  At Ellie's now (she's just now packing), well she's done this a million times, so I'm not worried....headed out around 3ish (am) to Atlanta to catch our flight at 9:45.  Plan on having lunch at the Twisted Tilt or Margaritaville on the strip in Jamaica, then I'll be unpacking while Ellie goes to school for her teaching assignment. 

Okay, just checked in on line at Delta.....and they are now charging me $65 for my second checked bag,  Bummer!  Guess it's better than $125. for being overweight.  When will I learn to "simplify".

Getting Ready

Hey friends :)

Wow....it's two days before I leave for Jamaica with my friend Ellie.  Can't believe it's 4 am and I'm awake writing this.  Just can't sleep and have a light headache....again.  Had one the other night (probably because I didn't eat right that day).  I hardly ever get them.  Oh well, maybe I'll write a bit and then fall alseep.

To me part of the excitement of a trip is getting ready for it...new bathsuit, clothes, shoes....really don't need a thing, but this time of year the stores are bringing in there new spring clothes and I just can resist.  Plus if I wait until Spring, the cute stuff is gone or not available in my size.

I will be on Skype....so family, friends you can visit me in Jamaica and see how my tan is coming along.  LOL

Buddy has been enjoying his new IPad and I've given him a few lessons on Skype....so we'll see if that will work this year.  The telephone calls are expensive using the cell so Skype should be perfect for video calling.

What more can I say at 4:15....oh my new color for this year is fuchsia and silver.





Ready to put in suitcase...the biggest pile of course, is the bathing suits!
